Audio Always is an independent audio production company making content across radio, podcasts and beyond. Millions of people hear, see and feel our shows every week, including across the BBC’s national networks. This role sits right at the heart of that — leading the editorial and creative delivery of content on BBC Radio 6 Music, the UK’s most distinctive music station. The Role

As Executive Producer, you’ll own the editorial, creative and technical delivery of live and pre-recorded content across one of the BBC’s most-loved networks. You’ll lead and develop your team, manage relationships with on-air talent, and play a central role in shaping what Audio Always makes next.

You’ll be based at Media City, working closely with the Content Director to keep our BBC Radio 6 Music output fresh, relevant and ambitious — while staying true to the station’s eclectic, alternative identity and its loyal, curious audience.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading the end-to-end delivery of live studio and pre-recorded content — on time and broadcast-ready, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Managing talent throughout the production process and building strong relationships with on-air talent and their agents.
  • Training and developing Producers, Assistant Producers and Broadcast Assistants.
  • Identifying new on-air and off-air talent.
  • Ensuring all content meets Editorial Guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Leading creative brainstorms and driving the idea development process from concept to commission.
  • Writing pitch documents and presenting ideas with confidence.
  • Delivering content within budget and reporting costs clearly.

What We're Looking For

  • Sound editorial judgement and the confidence to lead projects independently.
  • A deep understanding of 6 Music — its audience, tone and ambition.
  • Strong Insight into our current slate of 6 Music programmes and presenters.
  • Knowledge of audio editing software and broadcast systems.
  • An empathetic, hands-on approach to developing the people around you.
  • Experience managing talent — with the trust and diplomacy that requires.
  • Highly organised, adaptable, and able to handle multiple priorities at pace.
  • A creative thinker who's always looking for the next great idea.
  • Flexibility to work across our Salford and Birmingham bases.
