My Role at Audio Always
I am the Senior Producer for Selector Radio, hosted by Sian Eleri and Mo Ayoub. Our show is produced in partnership with the British Council and has a truly global footprint—we are broadcast across more than 30 radio stations worldwide, reaching audiences everywhere from Mexico and China to Argentina and Vietnam.
As a senior producer, my role is to curate the sound of the show and oversee its production from start to finish. This involves everything from discovering the best new British talent to managing our weekly recordings at our Farringdon studio in London. I also work closely with our social media team to storyboard content that brings the show to life.
The Search for New Music
A typical week for me begins with one of the best activities, listening to new music. I spend hours diving into piles of new releases from British artists—whether they’ve landed in my inbox, caught my eye on socials, or I’ve discovered them live at a gig. I collaborate closely with Sian, sharing my suggestions so she can use her own musical expertise to curate the final playlist.
Once the music is set, I’m busy preparing interview notes and guest segments ahead of our Thursday records. It’s a fast-paced environment, but there’s nothing quite like the feeling of packaging up a finished programme and sending it out to our partners across the globe.
My Journey
My career started back at Southampton Solent University, where I studied Journalism and got my first taste of broadcasting at the student station, Sin Radio (now Radio Sonar). I volunteered wherever I could—from community stations in Hampshire to festival radio at Glastonbury.
That persistence paid off when I secured a paid internship at BBC Radio 1 and became part of the team that launched Nick Grimshaw’s evening show.. After a decade at a production company working on specialist music shows I found my home, freelancing here at Audio Always.
The Highlights
I’ve been incredibly lucky to travel the world with Selector Radio, capturing content and collaborating with partners in Japan, Italy, and Texas. Some of my favorite moments include:
