Reflecting on 2025

January 6, 2026

What does a year at Audio Always look and sound like? 🎧

Across our podcasts it feels like over 100 Million downloads and views.

This year, our podcast slate across Audio Always Originals, commissions and limited series has been louder than ever. We are incredibly proud of the diverse collection of content we have produced, managed, and grown over the last 12 months.

We kept listeners laughing with returning giants like: ‘Help I Sexted My Boss’, ‘Drunk Women Solving Crime’, ‘Secret Mum Club’ ‘Passports Please’ and ‘The Luxury Podcast’.

We introduced fresh voices to the network with massive debuts from: ‘Get A Grip with Angela Scanlon and Vicky Pattison’, ‘Joe and James: Fact Up’, ‘The Jack & Ash Show’ and welcomed podcast legends ‘The Girls Bathroom’ and ‘Made By Mammas’ to our studios.

And we shone a light on dark corners of true-crime with world-class investigative journalism in The Pitcairn Trials and Mystic and the Mayor whilst UK True Crime, British Murders and  Murder Mile delivered weekly doses of scandals and betrayal.

None of this would be possible without the hard work and dedication of our content teams and the incredible talent we work with. It takes a village, so thank you to every host (and their teams!), producer, exec, social media producer, video editor and the many more that have been a part of Audio Always Podcasts in 2025. And special thanks to the platforms and our friends at Acast who have helped showcase and promote all our pods.

On the radio side of Audio Alwyas, we’re celebrating another fantastic year delivering radio programmes across the BBC and beyond!

For Radio 1 we’ve helped launch the brand new DAB+ station Radio 1 Anthems, produced a series of remarkable live shows and workshops for Life Hacks Live in Liverpool, held an incredible live session for Future Pop featuring Jelly Roll, and crafted Zayn’s first ever Radio 1 show.

In the Summer we celebrated the brilliant One More Chai podcast with a live show for the Asian Network and over the festive period on 1Xtra we have been saluting the Christmas Classics, Craig David and this year’s Future Figures for their Salutes series.

Our shows for BBC Radio 2 continue to be a huge amount of fun and OJ Borg has kept listeners entertained live from Salford every weeknight. We are also proud to deliver a number of weekly programmes every Sunday. Once listeners have woken up with Good Morning Sunday and laughed their way to lunch with Paddy McGuinness, we unwind with Angela Griffin. One of the most important Unwinds show of the year was for World Mental Health Day in October.

On 6 Music we’ve loved Chris Hawkins’ Names in Songs. 2025 has seen some belters. Shout out to ‘Mister Skinner’! As always Craig Charles’ Way With Words on National Poetry Day delivered some Autumn inspiration and it is one of our favourite annual traditions to plan and produce Craig’s poem. We were also thrilled to welcome Radcliffe and Maconie to the Audio Always family, with their weekend breakfast show joining us early in the year.

Our work for Selector Radio, the British Council’s globally syndicated weekly radio show, saw us travel the world working with some of the globe’s most unique and talented musicians and DJs. In October we visited Expo 2025 in Japan to feature mixes and sets from three rising UK electronic artists. Early next year we will have content from our recent Selector Radio trip to Cuba.

Thank you to everyone who has played a part in all our radio programmes. There’s much more to come in 2026!
